Our students learn one year ahead of national standards, ensuring they are challenged and prepared for the future. Small group lessons allow our teachers to help our students master concepts at a deeper level. Our students learn how to find and use information while building their reasoning skills. Personal learning plans help us track each child’s progress and share updates with parents. Along with these subjects, our students also enjoy science, social studies, spelling, and geography. Their day includes activities like physical education, world language, art, cotillion, instrumental music, and technology. Every student uses an iPad to enhance their learning. They learn skills for both learning and social growth. Through engaging activities, they build skills in reading, math, phonics, social studies, and science, as well as critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Kindergarten Kindergarten Our kindergarten program helps our students build key skills like reading, critical thinking, math, problem-solving and writing. Through large and small group lessons, hands-on centers and real world scenarios, our students are engaged and challenged. Along with strong academics, we also care about the whole child. We create a safe and happy place where children can be creative, learn new things, and feel confident. Read More. 1st Grade 1st Grade Our 1st grade students become better readers by learning about characters, story elements, and themes. They also grow as writers by telling stories, sharing opinions, and writing short essays. In math, they work with bigger numbers and practice adding and subtracting with multiple digits. They also start learning about multiplication and fractions. Science experiments in our lab help them explore and ask questions about the world around them. In social studies, they learn about history, geography, and different cultures. Students also build responsibility, teamwork, and creativity. They take part in art, violin, computer science, physical education, and world language class. In language arts, they improve their reading by exploring different genres, finding themes, and understanding deeper meanings. They also master writing longer pieces with more details. Math brings new challenges. They add and subtract multiple-digit numbers, master multiplication and fractions, and explore geometry. Read More. 3rd Grade 3rd Grade Our 3rd grade students become stronger readers. They understand more complex stories, find key details, and know the difference between fiction and nonfiction. In math, they continue to practice multiplication, division, fractions, and delve deeper into geometry. In science and social studies, they study everything from ecosystems and motion to government and communities. They grow their creativity through art, violin, and world languages. Computer science and physical education provide opportunities for hands-on learning and teamwork. Read More. 4th Grade 4th Grade In 4th grade, our students read novels and enhance their vocabulary. In math class, they solve challenging problems and continue learning about fractions, decimals, and geometry. They also practice using math in real-life scenarios. In science, they explore energy, plate tectonics, and how nature changes over time. They also talk about California’s land, economy, and history, including the Gold Rush. They take classes in art, band or orchestra, French or Spanish, and computer science. Physical education helps them stay active, work as a team, and make healthy choices. Read More. 5th Grade 5th Grade Our 5th grade students are getting ready for middle school! They read different genres of books and learn new ways to understand stories. They also practice writing longer papers, like research reports and five-paragraph essays. They work with ratios, proportions, graphs, and geometry. Science lessons teach them about energy, ecosystems, and outer space. In social studies, they explore American history. They learn about how our country was built. They also continue learning French or Spanish to improve their communication skills. Art, band or orchestra, computer science, and physical education round out their education. Read More. Junior K Personal Learning Plans: Elementary Each child gets a Personal Learning Plan (PLP). Their teacher creates this plan using information from tests and classroom interactions. The PLP provides students with skills to help them succeed in areas where they may be struggling.
