Week 6 July 20-23 Home / Camp & After School / Specialty Camps / Week 6 AM Sessions (9:00 am–12:00 pm): Theater Camp Winnie the Pooh Kids- TWO WEEK CAMP (JK–8th Grade) Join the magic in this summer’s theater production: Winnie the Pooh Kids! In this two-week camp, young performers will experience the joy of bringing A.A. Milne’s beloved characters, like Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore, to life on stage. Campers will learn the fundamentals of acting, singing, and dancing while building confidence and teamwork. They’ll also take part in stagecraft, costume design, and set creation to make the Hundred Acre Wood truly come alive. The camp will culminate in a heartwarming live performance for family and friends; an unforgettable adventure for young actors of all experience levels! NOTE: This is a 2-week camp. Enrollment in both week 5 and week 6 is required to participate. Vocabulary Venture (2nd–3rd Grade) Embark on a word-filled adventure with Mrs. Owens! In this fun and interactive camp, 2nd–3rd graders will expand their vocabulary through exciting games, reading activities, and creative challenges. Campers will explore new words in context, learn their meanings and uses, and practice applying them in writing and conversation. From word scavenger hunts to vocabulary bingo, each day brings a new way to build confidence and language skills. By the end of the week, students will be true word wizards and ready to use their new vocabulary everywhere they go! Reader’s Theater (1st Grade) Lights, scripts, action! In this lively and imaginative camp, 1st graders will bring stories to life through expressive reading, acting, and teamwork. Campers will practice fluency, pronunciation, and confidence as they read short scripts and perform mini plays based on favorite children’s stories. With simple props, costumes, and plenty of creativity, every child will shine on stage while building strong reading and speaking skills. It’s the perfect blend of literacy and fun! Real World Readers (3rd–4th Grade) Boost your nonfiction reading skills in this engaging summer camp with Ms. Tafolla! Students will explore a variety of nonfiction texts, learning to understand their unique structures and styles. Through interactive activities and guided practice, campers will build confidence in navigating and comprehending nonfiction—a common challenge for many students. Join us for a week of discovery and growth in nonfiction literacy! Sports History (4th–8th Grade) Step up to the plate for a one-of-a-kind journey through the world of sports! In this unique camp, students will explore the rich history of athletics, learn about legendary athletes, and discover how sports have shaped cultures and communities around the world. Through interactive discussions, multimedia projects, and friendly competitions, campers will connect past and present- seeing how teamwork, perseverance, and passion have defined the games we love today. It’s the perfect camp for sports fans and history buffs alike. French Cuisine Jr. (JK–2nd Grade) Unleash the magic of cooking and baking with science in our fun-filled French Cuisine Camp! Your child will explore the chemistry behind creating delicious French recipes while mastering important skills like reading recipes, measuring ingredients, and following step-by-step cooking techniques. No French required- all recipes are in English. ALLERGY ALERT: Please note, the camp recipes contain gluten, dairy, nuts, and eggs. World of Watercolor (JK-5th Grade) Does your child love expressing themselves through art? In this class, young artists will explore a variety of creative techniques, including watercolor, layered tempera, mixed media, and unique materials, to craft one-of-a-kind masterpieces. PM Sessions (1:00 pm–4:00 pm): Space Ranger Science (JK–2nd Grade) Calling all young Space Rangers! Get ready to blast off with Mrs. Owens for an out-of-this-world week of science exploration. Campers will journey through the Solar System, learning about planets, astronauts, and space pioneers like Sally Ride and Neil Armstrong. Each day will include interactive reading and comprehension activities, creative projects like a hands-on planet flip book, and technology-based missions to enhance learning. Through teamwork, discovery, and imagination, students will train like real space explorers as they uncover the wonders of our galaxy. Prepare for lift-off! Campers will learn to play simple songs on the ukulele, experiment with percussion, and discover sounds from around the world. Build a Book (1st Grade) Become an author and illustrator for the week! In this fun and creative camp, first graders will plan, write, and design their very own storybooks. By the end of the week, each student will proudly take home their completed book; an exciting keepsake that celebrates their imagination, creativity, and growing writing skills! Crafty Creations (JK–5th Grade) Unleash your creativity and explore the world of art! In this hands-on class, you’ll craft unique picture frames, design beautiful wind chimes, and bring your artistic ideas to life with a variety of fun, engaging projects!
