AM Sessions (9:00 am–12:00 pm):

Oceanic Exploration (2nd–5th Grade)

Week 1 (June 15–18)

Dive into an underwater adventure! In this week-long camp, students will explore the mysteries of the ocean while learning about fascinating sea creatures, unique ecosystems, and the science of the deep blue. Through hands-on experiments, creative crafts, and interactive marine-themed challenges, campers will discover how the ocean impacts our planet and why it’s so important to protect it. From coral reefs to tide pools, each day will offer new discoveries and plenty of splash-worthy fun for every young ocean explorer!

Rockin’ Robots (JK–3rd Grade)

Week 1 (June 15–18)

Robotics combines engineering, science, and technology skills to create machines that perform tasks and solve problems! Using VEX robots, campers will unlock the power of their imagination by designing and constructing remote-controlled robotic devices. Students will learn the concepts of Machine Intelligence, which is found in almost all the devices and machines around us, from cars to home automation to smartphones. The students will work to design the robot, build it, and move it by remote control. They will learn about robot sensors, which enable the robot to “feel” its environment. Robots are only limited by your imagination!

Digital Gaming & Design Workshop (3rd–6th Grade)

Week 2 (June 22-25)

Step into the exciting world of gaming and design! In this hands-on camp, students will explore both the competitive and creative sides of gaming. Campers will learn the fundamentals of teamwork, strategy, and communication through friendly esports challenges while also becoming game designers themselves. Using accessible tools like Scratch, Bloxels, and Minecraft Education, students will design and test their own simple digital or board games. Along the way, they’ll be introduced to core design principles such as objectives, rules, balance, and player feedback. Campers will prototype, playtest, and refine their creations (just like real designers) while also learning about digital citizenship and responsible online gaming. It’s the perfect blend of creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking!

Once Upon a Slime (JK–5th Grade)

Week 3 (June 29-July 2)

Get ready for a fairy-tale twist on everyone’s favorite gooey fun! In this hands-on STEM camp, students will explore the science of slime while creating magical mixtures inspired by their favorite storybook characters and adventures. From glittery unicorn slime to dragon fire slime, campers will mix, stretch, and experiment while learning about chemical reactions, measurement, and texture. It’s a happily-ever-after of creativity, curiosity, and messy fun!

STEM Math Quest (3rd–5th Grade)

Week 3 (June 29-July 2)

Embark on an exciting adventure where math meets imagination! In this hands-on camp, students will tackle daily STEM challenges that blend problem-solving, logic, and creativity. From designing bridges and solving escape-room-style puzzles to completing math-based quests and experiments, campers will discover how math powers the world around them. Working together as mathematicians and engineers, they’ll build confidence, teamwork, and a love for learning through engaging, real-world applications of STEM!

Little Engineers (JK–3rd Grade)

Week 3 (June 29-July 2)

Get ready to build, imagine, and explore! In this hands-on camp, young makers will dive into the exciting world of engineering using K’Nex building kits. Each day brings a new challenge as campers design, construct, and test their own creations- bridges that hold, cars that roll, and machines that move and light up! Along the way, they’ll experiment with strength, motion, and design as they create themed builds like castles, space rovers, and animal habitats. This camp inspires creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork as campers bring their imaginative ideas to life- one design at a time!

Shark Week (JK–3rd Grade)

Week 4 (July 6-9)

Dive into the excitement of Shark Week with Mrs. Plumlee in this jaw-some camp, timed perfectly with the real Shark Week this summer! Elementary students will learn all about sharks, their habitats, and the important role they play in our oceans. Through fun, hands-on activities, crafts, and games, campers will explore shark anatomy, behavior, and conservation efforts. Get ready to sink your teeth into learning in this fin-tastic camp!

Coding Club Jr. (4th–8th Grade)

Week 7 (July 27-30)

This intermediate/advanced coding camp is designed for those students who have previous experience coding either from Heritage Oak’s Computer Science class or elsewhere. Campers will flex their debugging and code construction skills as well as experiment with various coding languages including Scratch, Swift, and Python to solve programming puzzles, create apps, or even design a basic video game!

The Bubble Lab (JK–5th Grade)

Week 8 (August 3-6)

Join Mrs. Prince in The Bubble Lab, where science meets fun! Dive into the fascinating world of bubbles as you create your own bubble solutions, design unique wands, explore the art and science behind bubbles, and even learn how to make bouncing bubbles. Get ready for hands-on experiments and bubbly excitement!

Geology Rocks (1st–3rd Grade)

Week 9 (August 10-13)

Come join us as we learn about how Geology ROCKS! During our camp, we will explore the different types of rocks and fossils. Students will conduct STEM experiments involving rocks, learn how rocks form, and even create our own fossils! Students are guaranteed to have a “Rockin” good time!

PM Sessions (1:00 pm–4:00 pm):

Summer Science Fair (3rd–5th Grade)

Week 1 (June 15-18)

Calling all young scientists! In this hands-on camp, students will explore the scientific process as they design and carry out experiments, record data, and present their findings. From forming hypotheses to showcasing final projects, campers will strengthen their curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking skills while preparing their very own mini science fair display!

Jurassic Explorers (JK–2nd Grade)

Week 1 (June 15-18)

Travel back in time to when dinosaurs ruled the Earth! In this hands-on camp, young paleontologists will dig into the prehistoric world through exciting dinosaur-themed crafts, activities, and science experiments. Campers will explore fossils, learn about different dinosaur species, and even create their own dino discoveries to take home. It’s a roaring adventure filled with creativity, curiosity, and prehistoric fun!

STEM Science Quest (2nd-5th Grade)

Week 2 (June 22-25)

Dive into the fascinating world of science! This hands-on camp invites students to think like scientists as they experiment, observe, and explore the forces that shape our world. Each day features exciting investigations in chemistry, physics, and earth science, plus fun STEM challenges that encourage curiosity and critical thinking. From making predictions to testing hypotheses, campers will build real-world science skills and discover how experimentation leads to amazing discoveries!

Slime Story (JK–5th Grade)

Week 10 (July 6-9)

Get ready to mix, stretch, and experiment your way through the science of slime! In this STEM-based camp, students will learn how chemistry, measurement, and reactions come together to create their favorite squishy substance. Each day introduces a new “slime story” challenge, like glow-in-the-dark slime, color-changing slime, or magnetic slime. These activities will inspire encouraging curiosity and creativity. Campers will explore the science behind every swirl while having tons of gooey fun!

STEM Carnival Adventure (4th–8th Grade)

Week 5 (July 13-16)

Step right up for the ultimate STEM Carnival Adventure! Campers will dive into the exciting world of science and engineering as they explore simple machines and other awesome STEM concepts. Working together, campers will design and build their own interactive carnival games, then show them off in a lively showcase! It will be a week full of creativity, teamwork, and hands-on fun!

Space Ranger Science (JK–2nd Grade)

Week 6 (July 20-23)

Calling all young Space Rangers! Get ready to blast off with Mrs. Owens for an out-of-this-world week of science exploration. Campers will journey through the Solar System, learning about planets, astronauts, and space pioneers like Sally Ride and Neil Armstrong. Each day will include interactive reading and comprehension activities, creative projects like a hands-on planet flip book, and technology-based missions to enhance learning. Through teamwork, discovery, and imagination, students will train like real space explorers as they uncover the wonders of our galaxy. Prepare for lift-off! It’s going to be an interstellar adventure!

Fairy Tale Garden (JK–3rd Grade)

Week 8 (August 3-6)

Step into a storybook world where imagination grows! In this hands-on, project-based learning camp, students will explore classic fairy tales through art, science, and design challenges. Each day, campers will bring stories to life by building miniature gardens, designing character-inspired creations, and completing themed STEM activities. From constructing castles to planting enchanted seeds, children will use creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving to make their own fairy-tale worlds bloom!

STEM: Lego Architects (4th–8th Grade)

Week 8 (August 3-6)

Join us for a fun-filled week where we will explore the exciting world of architecture and engineering using Legos! Through hands-on activities and creative challenges, campers will learn about structural integrity, architectural styles, and sustainable building techniques. They’ll build towering skyscrapers, sturdy bridges, and innovative designs while having a blast with peers. By the end of the week, they’ll proudly present their masterpieces and celebrate their achievements. Don’t miss this unique chance to inspire creativity and problem-solving skills in an engaging and educational environment!

Coding Quest (JK-3rd Grade)

Week 8 (August 3-6)

Do you have a child who is interested in technology and computers? If so, they will LOVE this Coding Quest camp! Students will learn the basics of proper technology usage with mobile devices and computers, keyboarding concepts, and Internet and app safety. In addition, they will explore beginning computer programming concepts through block coding, fun coding activities, and coding skill-building apps such as Scratch Jr. and Tynker.
