Middle School Minds: Art Festival (6th–8th Grade) Join us for a fun-filled week of art as we prepare for our very own art festival! In this class, students will explore various art forms, from painting and drawing to sculpture and digital design. You’ll have the chance to experiment with different mediums, showcase your work, and collaborate with fellow artists. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned artist, this class is the perfect place to let your imagination run wild and create art for everyone to enjoy! Readers Theater (1st–2nd Grade) Become a reader’s theater superstar! In this fun and exciting camp with Mrs. Owens, students will strengthen their reading fluency skills by practicing and performing a reader’s theater script. Students will get different roles and work together in groups to work on their expression, eye contact, and presentation skills. They will build their confidence and have fun creating props and backdrops to go with their stories. At the end of the week, their stories will be brought to life for their reader’s theater performance! English proficiency required. New! Wiggle & Stretch (JK–2nd Grade) Get ready to move, groove, and flip at our Wiggle and Stretch Camp! This program combines the joy of dancing, the benefits of stretching, and the excitement of beginner gymnastics. Campers will learn fun dance routines, improve flexibility through creative stretching exercises, and explore basic gymnastics moves like rolls, cartwheels, and balance skills. Whether your child is a performer or just loves to move, this camp offers a supportive and playful environment to develop coordination, confidence, and creativity. Join us for a week of fun, fitness, and friendships! Pre-Coding Club (JK–3rd Grade) Do you have a child who is interested in technology and computers? If so, they will LOVE the pre-coding club! Students will learn the basics of proper technology usage with mobile devices and computers, keyboarding concepts, and Internet and app safety. In addition, they will explore beginning computer programming concepts through block coding, fun coding activities, and coding skill-building apps such as Scratch Jr. and Tynker. New! The Royal Teatime (JK–2nd Grade) Step into the world of royalty! This enchanting week-long camp lets elementary students experience life as a royal. From learning proper etiquette and manners to hosting a delightful royal tea party, students will embrace the elegance and charm of being royal. Perfect for those who dream of crowns, castles, and courtly grace! New! Superhero Science (3rd–5th Grade) Get ready for an action-packed adventure where science meets superhero fun! In this week-long camp, students will explore the wonders of science through exciting experiments and activities—all with a superhero twist. From creating your own superpowers with science to mastering experiments that will have you feeling like a true hero, this camp is perfect for young minds eager to discover the power of science while unleashing their inner superhero! PM Sessions (1:00 pm–4:00 pm): New! Scribble to Script (1st–3rd Grade) Join Mrs. Owens for a week of fun and focused handwriting practice! Whether your child is improving their printing or mastering cursive, this camp is perfect for building confidence and skills in penmanship. Mrs. Owens specializes in helping students excel in this area, making it an ideal choice for all students—especially those new to Heritage Oak. Let’s make handwriting a success! English proficiency required. New! Writing Studio (3rd–5th Grade) This class will focus on creative writing in fiction, poetry, drama, and personal narratives. Students will develop and reinforce descriptive writing, personal expressions, vocabulary, and word choice, how to write for pleasure, dramatic and poetic form, and journalistic writing. We’ll have performance, interactive group work, and writing games. A personal decorative writing journal will be created for students to use as a continued source to practice their writing skills throughout the summer. English proficiency required. French Boot Camp (2nd–5th Grade) Join us for a week of fun, interactive French conversations! Students will learn key vocabulary through engaging songs, short videos, and hands-on activities, diving straight into authentic, everyday French. Carnival Games (JK–5th Grade) Step right up for a week of fun! In this camp, students will plan, design, create, and build their very own carnival games and activities. Students will learn about the importance of teamwork, as they help one another to test out their creations and make them more fun. At the end of the week, you are invited to have a day of excitement playing and enjoying your child’s crafty creations! New! Kick Start to Kinder (JK/K) Prepare for a smooth transition into kindergarten with Kick Start to Kinder! This camp is designed for all students, especially those attending Heritage Oak in the fall. Through fun activities, games, and hands-on learning, students will brush up on all subject areas—math, reading, writing, and more—while building confidence, exploring their new school environment, and making new friends before the school year begins!
