Art Camps Home / Camp & After School / Specialty Camps / Art Camps AM Sessions (9:00 am–12:00 pm): Crafty Creations (JK–5th Grade) Week 3 (June 30–July 3) Unleash your creativity and explore the world of art! In this hands-on class, you’ll craft unique picture frames, design beautiful wind chimes, and bring your artistic ideas to life with a variety of fun, engaging projects! Watercolor Wonder (JK–5th Grade) Week 4 (July 7–10) Does your child love to paint using watercolors? Students will learn how different techniques help them explore their creativity as they produce beautiful and original works of art. Students will do a step-by-step drawing, use fine motor skills, and use their creativity to come up with their very own masterpiece. Children will take home all of their projects. New! Middle School Minds: Digital Photography (6th–8th Grade) Week 5 (July 14–17) Embark on a visual adventure and capture the world through your lens! This course will equip you with the fundamental skills of digital photography, from mastering your camera’s functions to crafting stunning compositions. You’ll explore the limitless possibilities of visual storytelling as you experiment with different techniques and styles. Grasp the basics of digital photography, including exposure, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and lighting. Develop your artistic eye and learn to compose compelling images with photo walks. You will participate in guided lighting workshops learning how to bounce light, use reflected light to spotlight, and enhance your subjects without digital filters. Let’s discover your visual creativity, share your perspective, and create stunning visuals that tell your unique story. Picturesque Poetry (2nd–5th Grade) Week 7 (July 28–31) Explore the world of poetry with Mrs. Owens! Tap into your creativity and express your emotions through words. Students will dive into different types of poetry while crafting and illustrating their own unique pieces of art. Summer Art Workshop (JK–5th Grade) Week 8 (August 4–7) Does your child love expressing themselves through art? In this class, young artists will explore a variety of creative techniques, including watercolor, layered tempera, mixed media, and unique materials, to craft one-of-a-kind masterpieces. With methods designed to inspire imagination and individuality, this class encourages every child to let their creativity shine! New! Middle School Minds: Art Festival (6th–8th Grade) Week 9 (August 11–14) Join us for a fun-filled week of art as we prepare for our very own art festival! In this class, students will explore various art forms, from painting and drawing to sculpture and digital design. You’ll have the chance to experiment with different mediums, showcase your work, and collaborate with fellow artists. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned artist, this class is the perfect place to let your imagination run wild and create art for everyone to enjoy! PM Sessions (1:00 pm–4:00 pm): Ceramics Jr. (JK–2nd Grade) Week 1 (June 16–20) Clay, glaze, paint, and new friends will make up this week of creative artistry as campers explore the stages of clay piece production. With having our very own kiln right here on campus, campers will be able to decorate cups, plates, bowls, etc., with paint and glaze, and then it will be fired on-site and ready to go home to be shared with family members! There will be NO camp sessions on Thursday, June 19 due to the Juneteenth holiday. Camp will instead be open on Friday, June 20. English proficiency required. New! Printmaking (3rd–8th Grade) Week 3 (June 30–July 3) Explore the fun world of printmaking! Students will make their own stamps, ornaments, cards and more as they learn how to carve linoleum blocks, apply ink and make original works of art! In addition to making their own prints, students will learn about the different kinds of printmaking. Show off your artistic creativity in this fun camp! New! Weaving Workshop (4th–8th Grade) Week 4 (July 7–10) In this hands-on camp, you’ll discover the art of weaving using Rattan, a natural vine-like material often used in wickerwork. Learn traditional weaving techniques and patterns as you create your own beautiful small baskets and a trivet. This camp is a great way to explore a timeless craft while making functional and decorative pieces! Dive into the art of paper folding as we explore its fascinating origins and master basic to intermediate folds. Origami is not only a relaxing and creative pastime but also helps improve memory, focus, and hand-eye coordination. Join us for a fun and rewarding journey into this timeless art form! New! Stitch and Style (4th–8th Grade) Week 8 (August 4–7) In this camp, we will learn the basics of crocheting, sewing, embroidery, and needlepoint! Students will learn about these materials, focusing on new material each day. Students will go home at the end of the week with four different projects to complete on their own and a finished sewn pillow! Join in on the tradition of working with fabrics, needles, and thread! New! Summer Souvenirs: Arts & Crafts (JK–8th Grade) Week 10 (August 18–21) Create lasting memories with Summer Souvenirs! In this arts and crafts camp, students will craft unique, handmade keepsakes to capture the essence of their summer. From painted treasures to fun, personalized projects, each creation will serve as a reminder of a fantastic summer filled with creativity and fun!
