So, why do families choose Heritage Oak Private Education and stay with us until their child graduates? They appreciate our rigorous, well-rounded curriculum that blends strong academics with character education and etiquette. So many wonderful things happen at our private school, #OnlyatHeritageOak. Let us tell you more! It’s a Great Day to be a Husky! At Heritage Oak, we help our students grow in learning and in life. From a young age, they explore music, languages, and advanced academics, while also staying active in sports. Whether they are coding, solving math problems, or performing with the orchestra at Carnegie Hall, our Huskies are always doing their best. With personal learning plans, top test scores, and extracurriculars, every child is set up for success. Plus, with the latest technology and classroom tools, learning is always engaging. Every day is a great day to be a Husky! Flat Stanley Our 1st grade students bring the adventures of Flat Stanley to life! Inspired by Jeff Brown’s beloved character, they explore different cultures around the world. After reading about Flat Stanley’s travels, they create their own Flat Stanley figures and send them to fun places. This project helps them learn about reading and different cultures. The culmination of this project is our Flat Stanley Multicultural Celebration, where our students share what they have learned with displays, presentations, and performances. 3rd Grade Royal Ball Our 3rd grade students go on a magical adventure through the classic stories of the Brothers Grimm. They read fairy tales that have been loved for many years. As they explore these books, they learn good manners and formal dances in our Cotillion program. The most exciting part is our annual 3rd grade Royal Ball. At this event, our students dress up as their favorite characters, enjoy a wonderful feast, and proudly perform the dances that they have learned. Middle School Field Trips Our middle school students go on field trips that broaden and deepen their understanding of topics. They visit museums and theaters and take three special overnight trips. They explore space and science at AstroCamp in the mountains, discover ocean life at the Catalina Island Marine Institute, and even visit Washington D.C. and New York. These trips help make learning come alive. Learning in Action We love providing a space where our students can actively engage in their learning. Our large gym and athletic field gives lots of space for physical education, sports, and events. We also have two play structures, so there are even more fun ways to explore outdoors. We even have a 40-foot climbing wall. This helps our students get stronger and build confidence. If your child likes to sing, dance, or act, our full stage is equipped with professional lighting. Students showcase their talents in musical productions, theatrical performances, and public speaking opportunities. Our art studio is complete with an on-site ceramics kiln. Our fully stocked library fosters a love of reading and research. Our two state-of-the-art science labs provide hands-on opportunities for experimentation and discovery. Preparing for High School Our advanced middle school program is designed to equip our students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in what comes next. Our commitment is evident, with 100% of our graduates, on average, gaining acceptance into their preferred high schools. Notably, 94% of these students are usually placed into honors classes as freshmen. To facilitate this success, we also offer high school prep classes, advanced math, literature analysis, and scientific inquiry. These courses challenge our students and help them develop high-order thinking skills. Cotillion Cotillion began as a formal dance in France, but now encompasses training in good manners, social etiquette, and the confidence to navigate a variety of social settings with poise and grace. We believe these skills are invaluable, which is why we offer Cotillion classes each year from February through May, led by a specialist in the field. Our students start learning Cotillion in 2nd grade. They keep practicing until 8th grade so they can display proper etiquette in any situation. We build a strong foundation in social graces that will benefit our students for a lifetime. These classes, which begin in 2nd grade, focus on things like how to eat in fine dining situations and how to speak confidently in front of others. During the year, our students have the chance to practice their skills at three special lunches at school and two evening events at a country club.
