WEEK 2: June 24th – June 27th

AM Oscar Dreams Filmmaking Academy – 3rd-8th
Join this year’s “Oscar Dreams Filmmaking Academy” camp, where students will get to produce, film, direct, and star in their very own short film! Using iPads and Movie Editing Apps, they’ll learn to make a cinematic masterpiece of their very own, with props, costumes, and even safe stunts! On the last day of camp, the edited films will be shared in our very own Future Filmmakers Academy Awards, where students and parents can view all the short films and receive awards for their hard work. This week is sure to be a Hollywood Filmmaking blast!

WEEK 5: July 15th – July 18th

AM Coding Club – 4th-8th
This intermediate/advanced coding camp is designed for those students who have previous experience coding either from Heritage Oak’s Computer Science class or elsewhere. Campers will flex their debugging and code construction skills as well as experiment with various coding languages including Scratch, Swift, and Python to solve programming puzzles, create apps, or even design a basic video game! *English Proficiency Required.

PM Video Game Programming – 4th -8th
Attention gamers! Learn to design your own video games using JavaScript code! Each camper will develop their own video game starring popular characters from Flappy Bird, the Amazing World of Gumball, Big Hero, and more! Each game will have a story during which characters may score points, interact, throw microbots, vanish one another, etc. The games will be shareable, and campers will be able to play them on a computer or mobile device.

WEEK 6: July 22nd – July 25th

PM Robotics – 4th-8th
Robotics combines engineering, science, and technology skills to create machines that perform tasks and solve problems! Using VEX robots, campers will unlock the power of their imagination by designing and constructing remote-controlled robotic devices. Students will learn the concepts of Machine Intelligence, which is found in almost all the devices and machines around us, from cars to home automation to smartphones. The students will work to design the robot, build it, and move it by remote control. They will learn about robot sensors, which enable the robot to “feel” its environment. Finally, they will learn programming in order to give the robot the ability to perform some defined tasks autonomously. Robots are only limited by your imagination!

WEEK 9: August 12th – August 15th

AM Pre-Coding Club – JK-3rd
Do you have a child who is interested in technology and computers? If so, they will LOVE the pre-coding club! Students will learn the basics of proper technology usage with mobile devices and computers, keyboarding concepts, and Internet and app safety. In addition, they will explore beginning computer programming concepts through block coding, fun coding activities, and coding skill-building apps such as Scratch Jr. and Tynker.

WEEK 10: August 19th – August 22nd
